Ingredients (serves 10)
- Glutinous rice, 1 ⅓ cup
- Red food colouring
- Red bean paste, 160g
- Sakura (cherry blossom) leaves
- Water, 1 ⅕ cup
Instructions
- Wash glutinous rice and soak it for 1 hour. While soaking add 1 or 2 drops of red food colouring.
- Pour rice and water into inner pot of Thermos® Shuttle Chef®. Boil rice , and simmer in medium fire for 5 minutes.
- Place inner pot into the outer pot, cover lids and let it cook for 15 minutes.
- Add sugar to cooked rice, mix well and slightly mash rice with a pestle.
- Split rice into 10 portions, roll them into oval shapes with red bean paste as filling and wrap around with Sakura leaves. Read to serve.
